Property Tax 101 for Seniors
Thursday, November 7, 2019 1-2:15 pm
North Beach Library (Community Rm.)
850 Columbus Avenue, San Francisco

Next Village SF, the Office of Assessor Carmen Chu, and the North Beach Public Library invite you to join a free educational workshop, Property Tax 101 for Seniors.

At the Assessor's Office, we understand that planning for a secure financial future is a top priority for San Francisco families. For many in San Francisco, your home is your biggest asset in life, but laws around property taxes and savings can be complicated.  Property Tax 101 for Seniors is a free educational workshop for senior homeowners on property tax savings opportunities.  At the workshop, the Office of Assessor Carmen Chu will teach you how your property taxes are calculated and share tax savings that you may be eligible for as a homeowner in California, particularly if you are planning to pass your property on to your loved ones.

The Office of the Assessor is responsible for determining an assessed value for all taxable property subject to property taxation.  The Office also maintains all of the public records for San Francisco.  Carmen Chu is the elected Assessor-Recorder for the City and County of San Francisco.  The work that her office does helps to generate over $3 billion in revenue, which is used to fund crucial services like fire, police, neighborhood improvements, health & family support services, and the SF Public Library!
